We had a great day on the boat today leaving just before the water went out at LCH and returning just after low tide as the water came in. Our trip took us up the river to the farmers’ market at Bath and then over to Five Island for lunch and finally back around past Reed State Park to the mouth of the Kennebec.
The ride up the Kennebec was a slow meandering cruise and we enjoyed the sites and took a few opportunities to stop and make a few casts searching for the first striper of the season. We got to one of my favorite spots across from the Bath Iron works and on the third cast I reeled in this beauty! It’s catch and release until the first of July so we quickly returned him to the water.
I think there is going to be a lot of great fishing this summer!
